The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of luxury hotels in the Middle East, but The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. When you first walk into the lobby, there’s this immediate sense that you’re somewhere truly special – the marble work is incredible, and they’ve managed to blend traditional Saudi design elements with that classic Ritz elegance without it feeling forced or touristy. The staff genuinely seems happy to be there, which you know isn’t always the case at high-end places.
What really impressed me was how they’ve thought about the little things that matter when you’re traveling for business or pleasure in Riyadh. The rooms are spacious (I mean really spacious, not just hotel marketing speak), and the blackout curtains actually work – something you’ll appreciate if you’re dealing with jet lag or just want to sleep in. The bathroom amenities are top-notch, though honestly, at this price point you’d expect that. What you might not expect is how quiet it is – even during peak business hours, you barely hear any noise from the corridors or neighboring rooms.
The dining situation is where this place really shines, actually. Their Middle Eastern restaurant serves some of the most authentic local dishes I’ve had outside of someone’s home, and the international options don’t feel like afterthoughts. I had breakfast there most mornings, and while it’s definitely pricey, the quality justifies it – fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared, and the Arabic coffee is exceptional. The pool area is beautiful too, though it can get busy during weekend afternoons with local families, which honestly adds to the atmosphere rather than detracting from it. Parking is valet only, but they’re quick about it, and the location puts you within easy reach of the main business district and some excellent shopping. With a 9.1 rating, you’re looking at consistently excellent service and facilities that actually live up to the Ritz-Carlton reputation – something that isn’t guaranteed even with luxury brands these days.

So, Abdul rahman was amazing, apologised he couldn't get me a better room because it was busy but said to come back at 3pm and he would sort it out.
I came back, he wasn't there, and a lady, I believe was susatha, was incredibly nice, gave me a room on the top floor with a great view.
Had a long chat with Abdul rahman and Ahmed. Both gave me so much time to give me advice on how things work in Saudi, I could've spent hours chatting to them. Also, concierge, amira was lovely too, soo friendly.
