I actually had a real conversation with the front desk manager about local restaurants, not just the usual scripted recommendations.

What really impressed me was the attention to those little details that make or break a stay. The rooms are thoughtfully laid out – enough outlets where you actually need them, blackout curtains that actually block out light, and water pressure that doesn’t make you question your life choices in the shower. The beds are properly comfortable too, with that perfect firmness that doesn’t leave you tossing around all night. And can we talk about the housekeeping? I left my room an absolute disaster one morning (don’t judge), and came back to find it immaculate without feeling like someone had moved all my stuff around. There’s something to be said for that kind of professionalism.

The location works really well if you want to be close to things without being right in the thick of tourist chaos. You’re not dealing with the noise and crowds, but you’re also not stranded somewhere requiring a taxi every time you want to grab coffee. I found myself walking to dinner most nights, which is always a good sign. Parking was straightforward too – none of that valet-only nonsense that adds up fast.

What struck me most was how the place felt during different parts of the day. Mornings were peaceful and efficient, afternoons had this relaxed energy, and evenings felt sophisticated without being stuffy. The common areas actually get used by guests, which tells you something about how comfortable people feel there. I saw families, business travelers, and couples all seeming equally at home.

Look, I’m not going to pretend it’s perfect – the Wi-Fi could be stronger in some corners of the building, and the elevator occasionally takes its sweet time – but these are minor gripes in the grand scheme of things. What matters is that this place delivers on the fundamentals while adding those thoughtful touches that show they understand hospitality. It’s the kind of hotel where you’d actually want to extend your stay, not just endure it.
