Check-in was smooth, no unnecessary upselling or lengthy spiels about amenities I probably wouldn’t use anyway. What I loved most was how they actually listened when I mentioned I’m a light sleeper – they made sure I got a room away from any potential noise sources without me having to ask twice.

The room itself was well thought out in those little ways that show someone actually stays in hotels themselves. Like, the bedside outlets were positioned where you’d actually want to charge your phone, and there was proper lighting for reading (you’d be amazed how many places get this wrong). The bathroom was spotless and had decent water pressure – honestly, after a long day of exploring, that’s what matters most. I mean, the 7.7 rating makes perfect sense when you experience it firsthand. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works exactly as it should. The housekeeping was thorough without being intrusive, and I never had to call down to request extra towels or toiletries.

What really won me over was the genuine local feel of the place. You’ll find yourself chatting with other travelers at breakfast – there’s this easy, relaxed atmosphere that encourages actual conversations rather than everyone staring at their phones. The restaurant serves some surprisingly good local dishes alongside the usual international options, and the portions are generous without being wasteful. Evening hours are particularly nice if you want to unwind without the chaos of touristy hotel bars. Parking was straightforward too, which saved me the headache of circling blocks looking for a spot. If you’re looking for solid comfort without the pretension or inflated prices of some luxury chains, this place delivers exactly what it promises – nothing more, nothing less, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
