Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Voco Riyadh, I wasn’t sure what to expect from IHG’s newer brand. But after spending a few nights there, I get it now. This place actually feels different from your typical international chain hotel, and that 9.2 rating? Yeah, it’s earned.

The thing that struck me right away was how they’ve managed to blend that sleek, contemporary vibe with subtle nods to Saudi culture – nothing heavy-handed, just thoughtful touches that remind you where you are. The lobby has this warm, sophisticated energy that makes you want to linger with a coffee, which I actually did more than once. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right, and I mean beyond the usual five-star pleasantries. They remember your name, they know your preferences after a day or two, that sort of thing. My room was spacious without feeling cavernous, and honestly, the bed was one of those you sink into and immediately forget about whatever travel fatigue you were carrying. The bathroom setup was particularly well thought out – proper water pressure, good lighting for getting ready, and those little amenities that matter when you’re away from home for a while.

What really won me over, though, was how well-positioned this place is for actually experiencing Riyadh. You know how some hotels feel completely disconnected from their city? This isn’t one of those. Whether you’re here for business meetings in the financial district or you want to explore the cultural side of the city, you’re not spending half your day in traffic getting anywhere. The concierge team actually knows the city – not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to find the best traditional restaurants, which souks are worth your time, when to avoid certain areas due to construction or events. I appreciated that kind of local insight. The hotel restaurant surprised me too, serving up both international dishes and regional specialties that didn’t feel like tourist versions. Room service was quick and the food arrived hot, which seems basic but you’d be amazed how many places mess that up. One small thing that stood out – the WiFi actually works throughout the entire property, including the elevators, which saved me during a few urgent work calls. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the pool area can get a bit crowded during weekend afternoons, but honestly, that’s about the worst complaint I can come up with. This is the kind of place where you feel comfortable whether you’re entertaining clients or just need a reliable base while exploring the city.

  Firstly I was amazed of the huge lobby, the by warm welcome of the reception team who made me feel comfortable at the first moment, they were smooth, fast and very helpful. The hotel is like a whole city, they have restaurants, lounges mini market and even an ATM! The service was on point and the food is yummmmy. Its like if I didn't have to the city I would just enjoy the hotel with its facilities.
