The Artisan Residence
About
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much when I first pulled up to The Artisan Residence – the name made it sound like it might be trying too hard, you know? But within five minutes of walking through the front door, I realized this 4-star gem actually lives up to its reputation. There's something immediately different about the place that you pick up on right away. The lobby has this wonderful lived-in quality, like someone's sophisticated aunt decorated it with pieces collected over decades of traveling. Not stuffy at all, just... thoughtful. The kind of place where the furniture looks like it has stories.
What really won me over, though, was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting the details right. Check-in was smooth – no rushing, no script – and they actually listened when I mentioned I was hoping for a quiet room. The room itself had character without being quirky for the sake of it. Good lighting (seriously, why is this so rare?), a bed that didn't feel like sleeping on a marshmallow, and windows that actually opened, which I always appreciate. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with one of those rainfall showers that actually has decent water pressure. Small thing, but it matters when you're starting your day.
I mean, look – it's not perfect. The walls could be a bit thicker, and if you're someone who needs everything to be brand new and shiny, this might not be your vibe. But that 8.6 rating makes sense to me. The Artisan Residence has that rare quality of feeling like a real place rather than a generic hotel experience. The common areas invite you to linger with a book or laptop, and there's usually interesting background music playing – not elevator music, actual curated playlists. Breakfast was better than expected too, with local touches that showed someone put thought into sourcing. It's the kind of place where you find yourself staying an extra night just because leaving feels premature, and honestly, that's exactly what I ended up doing.

Wonderful property, supportive host, and superb location. Mr. Ahmed Elsherif was extremely helpful, accommodating, and responsive with any and all requests.
Location and furnishing
Bathroom shower is small
The location was excellent for my purpose.
I was not made aware of the remote check-in and was difficult to get hold of the reception as they only accept a Saudi phone number to use. When checking out I had wanted to leave my luggage in storage but this could not be arranged unless I would pay for an extra night. I was somewhat put off by that.
I like cooperation of Mr. Ahmed Al Sheif , he was very friendly and very professional
It was mainly coordinated through WhatsApp communications and responses were quick.
The property does not have luggage storage place.

I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Mabaat – Qurtubah – 554, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The naming convention is a bit different from your typical hotel, but you know what?
