Sarwat Park Hotel Riyadh – Diplomatic Quarter Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Sarwat Park Hotel Riyadh – Diplomatic Quarter? It’s got this unexpectedly cozy vibe for a 4-star place in what’s essentially the business heart of the city. I mean, when you’re staying in the Diplomatic Quarter, you sort of expect everything to be all formal and stuffy – embassies and government buildings everywhere – but this place actually feels welcoming the moment you walk in.
The location is honestly pretty brilliant if you think about it. Sure, you’re not right in the thick of old Riyadh‘s souks and traditional chaos, but being tucked into the DQ (that’s what locals call the Diplomatic Quarter) means you’re in this green, well-planned bubble that’s surprisingly peaceful. The streets are wider here, there’s actually decent parking – which anyone who’s driven in central Riyadh will appreciate – and you’re still close enough to hit King Fahd Road when you need to get anywhere fast. Plus, if you’re here on business, half the important offices are probably within a 10-minute drive.
What I really liked about staying here was how the staff seemed to get that mix of professional service without being overly formal. The check-in was smooth, no unnecessary fuss, and they actually knew the area well enough to give decent recommendations. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – clean, comfortable beds, reliable wifi, and honestly the air conditioning works like a dream, which in Riyadh’s heat is basically a necessity, not a luxury. The bathrooms are nicely done too, though nothing too fancy. I appreciated that they’d clearly put thought into the little things – good lighting for actually reading, enough outlets near the bed, and the soundproofing is decent enough that you’re not hearing every conversation in the hallway. The whole place has this kind of understated elegance that works well if you’re not looking to make a big statement but just want somewhere reliable and comfortable. It’s the kind of hotel where business travelers probably become regulars because it just works without any drama, and honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

Breakfast was good, although the bakery items were cold, which made it stale. Overall, it was good. the location was just right next to the Diplomatic Quarter which made it very easy and fast for me to get to where I was heading. I even got an upgrade to a suite as I am a Genius Level 2, which was awesome!

The hotel location was very convenient and near in KAICC. Rooms are clean and room service is very impressive. I would also like to commend Ms. Shahad Ai Sif from the front desk who assisted us graciously in our request for late checkout. 10 stars for her!

Staff were lovely… I liked them a lot. Had a problem when I took a shower for the first time. The bathroom flooded. I put loads of towels on the floor to mop up then immediately told staff. They said they would fix. returned to my room later that night and all the wet towels were still on the bathroom floor. I went to reception as I assumed the problem was not fixed. A staff member came to my room and informed me that the shower actually was fixed and actually I had left the "plug" in, which was a small metal cover that covered the plug hole. They simply removed that.
I have never stayed at any hotel that you have to remove a plug cover (that was the same metal colour and style as the rest of the taps and plug) before you shower.
Also when they removed the plug cover while fixing it… they did not clean up the wet towels on the floor. Quite unacceptable.
On a side note the TV didn't tune in properly, it was constantly crackley on all channels and there were no 'English' specific channels.
Breakfast was ok.
