Parking was straightforward too (and free, which feels like a miracle these days), so if you're planning day trips to Balboa Park or the beaches, you're not dealing with the nightmare of downtown hotel parking. The pool area is nothing fancy, but it gets good afternoon sun and there's usually space to actually relax. I spent a couple evenings there just unwinding, and it felt more like hanging out at a friend's place than being at a hotel. Look, it's got a 7 out of 10 rating, and that feels about right – it's not going to blow you away, but it does what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.
