What really sold me on this place though is how quiet it stays, even during busy times. The building seems well-insulated, and the staff – they’re genuinely helpful without being hovering-around-you helpful, if that makes sense. Check-in was smooth, they remembered my name the next day, and when I mentioned I was looking for good local food, the front desk guy actually drew me a little map to places where locals eat, not just the tourist spots. The housekeeping is thorough without rearranging all your stuff, which drives me crazy at some hotels. Air conditioning works perfectly too, and believe me, that matters a lot in the Saudi heat. I actually found myself looking forward to coming back to the room after long days exploring the city, which doesn’t always happen when you’re staying somewhere just to sleep.
