Rafa Hotel Apart
About
You know what caught me off guard about Rafa Hotel Apart? The moment I walked into the lobby, it felt less like a hotel and more like stepping into someone's really well-designed apartment building – which, honestly, makes perfect sense given the name. The whole aparthotel concept isn't new, but these folks actually get it right.
I mean, when you're traveling for more than a few days, you start craving those little comforts of home, and that's exactly what this 4-star place delivers without making you feel like you're roughing it. The suites – and I'm calling them suites because calling them rooms doesn't do them justice – come with proper kitchenettes that aren't just for show. We're talking full-sized fridges, decent stovetops, and counter space where you can actually prep a meal without playing Tetris with your groceries. The living areas have this cozy, lived-in feel with soft furnishings that don't scream "hotel chain," plus those little touches like proper reading lamps and enough outlets that you're not crawling under furniture to charge your phone.
What really impressed me was how they've managed to nail that sweet spot between independence and service. The staff knows when to be helpful and when to let you just exist – something a lot of places struggle with. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no upselling or lengthy explanations of amenities I didn't ask about. The housekeeping is thorough but not intrusive, and honestly, after staying at places where they'd vacuum at 7 AM, I appreciated that they seem to understand basic human decency about timing. The 8.4 rating makes total sense once you've been there a couple days – it's those accumulated small pleasures that really add up. The water pressure is solid (trust me, this matters more than fancy marble), the Wi-Fi doesn't drop every time someone uses the microwave, and the beds are that perfect firmness where you don't wake up feeling like you slept on concrete or got swallowed by quicksand. One thing I particularly loved was the natural light – whoever designed these spaces understood that travelers spend enough time in windowless conference rooms and airplane cabins. You'll actually want to hang out in your room during the day, which is saying something.
