I mean, you walk into some apartment-style hotels and there’s this weird institutional smell or outdated furniture that makes you question your booking decisions, but not here. The staff genuinely seemed to care about the details – fresh linens that actually smelled good, bathrooms that sparkled, and honestly, the kind of housekeeping attention you’d expect from a much pricier place. The apartment setup is particularly smart if you’re staying for more than just a night or two. Having that little kitchenette means you can grab some local groceries and actually save money on meals, which is huge when you’re trying to stretch your travel budget.

What really won me over, though, was the service level. The front desk folks were incredibly helpful – not in that scripted, overly formal way, but like they actually wanted you to have a good time. They knew the area well and gave me some solid recommendations for local spots that weren’t just the typical tourist traps. The 8.7 rating makes complete sense once you spend a few days there because it’s all about the fundamentals done right rather than flashy amenities. Sure, you’re not getting a rooftop pool or marble everything, but the Wi-Fi actually works consistently (which, let’s face it, is more important than most people admit), the air conditioning keeps up even during the hotter parts of the day, and the beds are genuinely comfortable. I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier places where I spent half the night adjusting pillows and fighting with temperamental room controls, so this was refreshing. The neighborhood itself has this nice residential feel – you hear normal life happening around you rather than constant tourist chaos, which I found pretty relaxing after long days of sightseeing. Plus, there’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, and the whole area feels safe for walking around in the evenings.

  First of all, the location of Mandarin Alshamal is great. It is central and easily accessible to most of the major areas of Riyadh. It's walking distance to Hayat Mall which has an enormous Danube supermarket which carries a wide variety of food, drinks and homewares. Secondly, the place is extremely clean and spacious. I lost the TV remote once and had to pull back the cushions of the couches – there wasn't one bit of dust. The rooms are a generous size, including the kitchen – which has a lot of storage space. The bathroom is large and there is even a dressing room. And really importantly, it is quiet – SO quiet. We slept so well. And another important thing, I don't know if it's a non-smoking property, but we never smelled any smoke from any rooms, which we have smelled in more expensive places. The bed is very comfortable. The maintenance men and front desk are unbelievably helpful – all the time. Nothing was too much for them to do. Nothing. It is a really great place. I feel so lucky that a friend found it on line. The photos do NOT do the property justice at all. It's so much nicer in person than it appears online.
  
  What could be improved: These comments should NOT cause people to not book here. I just think that these little things could truly bring this property to a solid 4 star. 1. There could be a bit more art on the walls and a couple of lamps in the bedroom, on the desk and in living room. 2. The kitchen could have more supplies, like tea towels, mixing bowls, a grater, teapot, etc and more tableware and cutlery than for just 2 people. 3. The refrigerator should be full sized. 4. A dresser would be helpful too.

  When we reached first they sent my family towards the room meanwhile i was parking my vehicle but then the person told first i need to pay before i get my room key and my family was waiting outside the room during that time so they need to work on their hospitality
