The kitchenette situation is honestly pretty great if you’re the type who gets tired of eating out every single meal (or if you’re trying to save some money, which, let’s be real, we all are these days). I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works and it’s clean, which is really all you need when you’re exploring during the day anyway.

The 8.5 rating makes total sense once you spend a night or two here. It’s one of those places where the staff actually seems to care – not in that fake, overly cheerful way, but genuinely helpful when you need directions or recommendations. I remember asking about the best time to avoid crowds at some of the main attractions, and instead of giving me some rehearsed response, the front desk guy actually thought about it and gave me specific timing that ended up being spot-on. The housekeeping is thorough without being intrusive, and they don’t wake you up at dawn with vacuum cleaners in the hallway – small thing, but it matters when you’re trying to sleep in on vacation. The whole vibe is just… comfortable, I guess? Like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste and keeps everything impeccably maintained. Sure, it might not have all the bells and whistles of those massive resort-style hotels, but honestly, who needs seventeen different restaurants and a gift shop selling overpriced postcards? Sometimes you just want a solid, well-run place where you can actually relax without feeling like you’re constantly being sold something.
