So I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Intour Qurtoba, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from a 3-star place. You know how it is with mid-range hotels, they can really go either way. But this one actually surprised me in some pretty good ways, even if it’s not going to blow your mind or anything.

The thing that struck me right away was how the staff genuinely seemed to care about getting things right. I mean, check-in was smooth enough, and the front desk guy – I think his name was Ahmed – actually took the time to explain the neighborhood a bit instead of just handing over key cards like most places do. The lobby’s nothing fancy, sort of that comfortable-but-not-trying-too-hard vibe with decent lighting and some local touches that don’t feel completely touristy. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stayed in the evenings – you know how some hotels just echo with every conversation and slamming door? Not really an issue here.

The rooms are honestly pretty solid for what you’re paying. Nothing luxurious, but they’ve clearly put some thought into the details that actually matter when you’re trying to sleep or get ready in the morning. The bed was firmer than I expected (in a good way), and I loved that they had proper blackout curtains – not those flimsy things that let half the street light in. The bathroom was clean and had decent water pressure, though I will say the shower’s a bit on the small side if you’re tall or, well, not particularly compact. Air conditioning worked well enough during the day, and it wasn’t one of those units that sounds like a jet engine all night. One thing that caught me off guard – and this might sound weird – but the whole place just smelled fresh, you know? Not like cleaning chemicals or that musty hotel smell, just… clean air. Sometimes it’s the little things that make you realize a place is actually well-maintained. The 7.2 rating makes sense to me because it delivers on the basics really well without any major surprises, good or bad. If you’re looking for somewhere reliable that won’t eat up your entire travel budget but still lets you get a decent night’s sleep, this is honestly a pretty safe bet.
