Holiday Inn Riyadh The Business District, an IHG Hotel
About
You know what really struck me about Holiday Inn Riyadh The Business District, an IHG Hotel? It's one of those places that actually lives up to its five-star rating without feeling pretentious about it. I mean, when you first walk into the lobby, there's this immediate sense that they've figured out how to balance professional polish with genuine warmth – which honestly isn't easy to pull off in Riyadh's business district where everything can feel a bit too corporate.
The location is pretty brilliant if you're here for work or want to be in the thick of the city's commercial energy. You're literally surrounded by the kind of sleek office towers and business centers that make Riyadh feel like it's racing toward the future, but somehow the hotel manages to be a calm oasis in all that hustle. The rooms are spacious in that way that makes you forget you're in a business hotel – I actually found myself sprawling out on the bed just because I could. The air conditioning works like a dream (trust me, you'll appreciate this), and the blackout curtains are thick enough that you can sleep in even when the desert sun is blazing outside. What really impressed me was the attention to details that business travelers actually care about: plenty of outlets, a desk that's actually comfortable to work at, and WiFi that doesn't cut out during video calls.
The staff here has that rare quality of being genuinely helpful without hovering. When I had questions about getting around the city, the concierge didn't just hand me a map – he actually sat down and sketched out the best routes, mentioned which times to avoid certain areas due to traffic, and even recommended a local coffee spot that wasn't in any guidebook I'd seen. The breakfast spread is honestly impressive, with a good mix of international options and local favorites, though I'd recommend getting there earlier in the morning when everything's freshest and the dining room isn't as crowded with business groups. The pool area became my evening escape – there's something almost magical about swimming while looking up at Riyadh's skyline as the sun sets and those glass towers start lighting up. Sure, the hotel can get busy during peak business season, and sometimes the elevators take forever when there's a big conference happening, but those are pretty minor complaints. With an 8.7 rating, this place has earned its reputation by consistently delivering on the things that actually matter to travelers, whether you're here closing deals or just want a really solid base for exploring the city.
The concierge service in Riyadh can arrange exclusive desert safari experiences, secure private visits to the National Museum, and organize trips to nearby Diriyah UNESCO site and Edge of the World cliffs.

The hotel staff were extremely hospitable from the moment we walked in. The rooms were clean and well maintained, as were all the communal areas.
Assistance of the staff
Location is close to the airport. New and quiet hotel.
Clean , quite , friendly staff, close to airport
Great service Great staff especially Mustafa at the front reception
The staff were amazing, the gentleman on the night shift even helped out with paying taxi driver.
The duty manager spoke English very well and suggested Boulevard city (not the Boulevard) which was very interesting. I was very thankful for the upgrade to a junior suite. The breakfast was fantastic and the bed very comfortable. The swimming pool is great and not too cold for doing laps, even in December.
The closeness to uni
We were exhibiting at Global Health, we had many things that needed to be taken to, and from the car each morning, and each evening. Staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy, and especially helped more when they could see we were tired. The facilities, food, and beverages at the hotel was top class, and well priced.
Large and Very nice rooms, excellent staff
