Holiday Inn Riyadh AI Malaz by IHG
About
You know what caught me off guard about the Holiday Inn Riyadh AI Malaz by IHG? I honestly wasn't expecting much – I mean, it's a Holiday Inn, right? But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The Al Malaz district isn't where most tourists end up, which turned out to be exactly why I loved staying here. You're in a proper residential neighborhood where you'll see actual Saudi families going about their day, kids playing in the small parks nearby, and local cafes that don't cater to the tourist crowd.
The hotel itself has this fresh, modern feel that's miles ahead of what you'd expect from the brand. I'm talking about a lobby that actually feels designed rather than just functional, with these comfortable seating areas where I'd catch up on emails without feeling like I was camping out in a generic business center. The rooms – well, they're genuinely spacious, and I mean Saudi-spacious, not European "we call this a double but you can barely walk around the bed" spacious. What really got me was the attention to detail in the bathrooms; decent water pressure (which honestly can be hit or miss in Riyadh), good lighting for getting ready, and they actually stock the amenities properly. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you're there for a few days.
Here's what I really appreciated though – the staff actually knows the area. When I asked about getting to the King Fahd National Library or finding good local food, they didn't just hand me a generic map. They gave me proper directions, told me which streets to avoid during prayer times if I was walking, and even recommended this incredible traditional restaurant about ten minutes away that I never would have found on my own. The neighborhood comes alive in the evenings, especially around the small shopping areas nearby, but it stays quiet enough that you'll actually sleep well. Parking was never an issue, which – if you've driven in Riyadh – you'll know is basically a miracle. I'd definitely come back here over staying in the more obvious hotel districts, partly because of the price point but mostly because you get this authentic slice of how the city actually works when you're not in the expat or tourist bubbles.
Apartments in Riyadh provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Saudi markets and experience daily life in historic Arabian neighborhoods.

Clean and quiet. Polite helpful staff. Thanks to Ms. Anfal at the reception.
The concierge met me at the front door and offered to carry my bags. All of the receptionist, Wejdan, Abdulaziz, and others were very kind and attentive to all of my needs. All of the staff were accommodating and the establishment was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. You will be satisfied with your stay.

First Impressions When I first arrived at شقة بغرفتين نوم وبلكونة خاصة ١٥, I’ll be honest — the name might look intimidating if you don’t read Arabic, but it simply means “Two-bedroom apartment with private balcony 15.” This three-star property in Riyadh‘s Madinah Az Zayid district surprised me with how much space you actually get […]

Cali chalets
You know what caught me off guard about Cali chalets? The moment I walked in, it felt more like stepping into someone’s well-designed mountain home than a typical hotel. I mean, the name pretty much tells you what you’re getting – these aren’t your standard cookie-cutter rooms, and honestly, that’s exactly what made my stay […]

First Impressions When I first pulled up to بسمات الشرق 1, I’ll be honest — it’s not the flashiest place you’ll see in Riyadh, but there’s something refreshingly straightforward about it.
