Courtyard by Marriott Riyadh Olaya
About
You know what struck me first about the Courtyard by Marriott Riyadh Olaya? It's got this surprisingly calm vibe despite being right in the thick of things in the Olaya district. I mean, you're literally surrounded by some of Riyadh's busiest commercial areas, but somehow the hotel manages to feel like a proper retreat from all that urban intensity.
The lobby has this modern, clean-lined aesthetic that actually works – not trying too hard to be fancy, just comfortable and functional in that reliable Marriott way. Check-in was smooth (honestly, Middle Eastern hospitality combined with American hotel efficiency is a pretty solid combo), and the staff genuinely seemed to know the area well when I asked about getting around. The rooms are what you'd expect from a solid 4-star property – nothing groundbreaking, but everything works properly, the AC keeps up with Riyadh's brutal heat, and the beds are actually comfortable. I particularly appreciated that the blackout curtains do their job properly, which matters more than you might think when you're dealing with jet lag and desert sun.
What really makes this place work is the location, though. You're walking distance to King Fahd Road, which is basically Riyadh's main artery, so getting taxis or using ride-sharing apps is never a problem. The Olaya area has tons of restaurants and cafes within a few blocks – I found this excellent Lebanese place just around the corner that locals seem to frequent, which is always a good sign. The hotel's restaurant is decent enough for breakfast (they do a proper Arabic spread alongside the international options), but honestly, you'd be missing out if you didn't explore the neighborhood dining scene. Parking was straightforward, which isn't always a given in this part of the city, and the area feels safe walking around during reasonable hours. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me – it's not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. It's the kind of place where business travelers can get work done in peace, and tourists have a solid base for exploring without paying resort prices for amenities they might not use.

Quiet New Studio in Almuruj
First Impressions When I first pulled up to Quiet New Studio in Almuruj, I’ll be honest — it’s not the flashiest place you’ll see in Riyadh. But you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. This three-star property sits in a residential area that feels refreshingly normal after dealing with the city’s busier districts. […]

AW Hotel Riyadh
You know what struck me first about the AW Hotel Riyadh? It’s one of those places that actually lives up to its stellar 9.8 rating – and honestly, I was skeptical going in because those numbers seemed almost too good to be true. But within the first hour of being there, I totally got it. […]

شقة بغرفتين نوم وصالة وبلكونة مع إطلالة
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first saw the name شقة بغرفتين نوم وصالة وبلكونة مع إطلالة, I had to double-check what I was booking. But you know what? Sometimes the places with the most straightforward names (which literally translates to “apartment with two bedrooms, living room and balcony with view”) turn […]
