Courtyard by Marriott Riyadh Diplomatic Quarter
About
You know what? I wasn't expecting much when I first pulled up to the Courtyard by Marriott Riyadh Diplomatic Quarter – I mean, business hotels can be pretty hit or miss, right? But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The whole Diplomatic Quarter area has this really interesting vibe that's completely different from the rest of Riyadh – it's quieter, more spread out, with these wide boulevards lined with palm trees that make you forget you're in the middle of one of the world's busiest capitals.
What really got me was how the hotel manages to feel both professional and relaxed at the same time. The lobby has this clean, contemporary look without being cold or sterile, and honestly, the staff seemed genuinely happy to help rather than just going through the motions. I ended up chatting with one of the front desk guys who'd been working there for years, and he gave me some great tips about navigating the city that you definitely won't find in any guidebook. The rooms are solid – I mean, they're not going to win any design awards, but they're spacious enough that you're not bumping into furniture every time you turn around, and the beds are actually comfortable (which, let's be real, is sometimes a gamble even with four-star places). The air conditioning works like a dream too, which is pretty crucial when you're dealing with Riyadh's intense heat.
Here's the thing that really sets this place apart though – the location is perfect if you want to experience a different side of the city. The Diplomatic Quarter feels almost like a planned city within a city, with embassies and government buildings mixed in with parks and residential areas. It's fascinating to walk around in the evenings when things cool down a bit, and you're close enough to some excellent local restaurants that most tourists never discover. I found this incredible Lebanese place just a ten-minute walk away that locals kept recommending. The hotel's restaurant is decent too – nothing fancy, but they do a solid breakfast spread that'll keep you going all morning. Parking was never an issue, which honestly can be a real headache in other parts of town. The pool area is nice for unwinding after a long day of meetings or sightseeing, though it can get a bit busy during peak hours. With an 8.2 rating, this place delivers exactly what it promises – reliable comfort in a unique part of the city that gives you a completely different perspective on what Riyadh can be.

Excellent breakfast, staff, service, beds and room
Unfortunately, the booking for two rooms was not available upon arrival. The staff apparently only saw one room and was not able to guarantee that our two room request would be fulfilled. As a result, that caused some undue stress.

I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Kease Al Wahah K-2 Royal Touch AX68, I thought someone was reading me a license plate number or something. But you know what? Don’t let the quirky name fool you, because this place absolutely delivers on that “royal touch” promise they’re making. Walking into the […]

استديو المروج
You know what, استديو المروج really surprised me when I first walked in – it’s one of those places that doesn’t look like much from the outside but actually has this quiet charm once you’re inside. I mean, it’s a 3-star spot so you’re not expecting luxury, but honestly, they’ve done something right here because […]

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Aseel Alsharq Hotel, I wasn’t expecting much from a 4-star place, but this spot really caught me off guard in the best way possible. Rafa Hotel Apart
You know what caught me off guard about Rafa Hotel Apart? The moment I walked into the lobby, it felt less like a hotel and more like stepping into someone’s really well-designed apartment building – which, honestly, makes perfect sense given the name. The whole aparthotel concept isn’t new, but these folks actually get it […]
