Awfad Hotel
About
You know what really caught me off guard about Awfad Hotel? It's one of those places that doesn't try too hard to impress you at first glance, but then gradually wins you over with all the little things they get right. I mean, sure, it's a solid 4-star property with decent ratings hovering around 7.4 out of 10, but honestly – those numbers don't tell the whole story about what it's actually like to stay here.
The first thing I noticed walking into the lobby was how they've managed to strike this perfect balance between professional and welcoming. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay comfortable, not in that overly scripted way you get at some chain hotels, but more like they're actually invested in whether you have a good time. Check-in was smooth – no weird surprise fees or confusing explanations about amenities. The front desk person even took a minute to explain the best times to use the facilities without dealing with crowds, which honestly saved me some hassle later on.
What really impressed me, though, was how well-maintained everything felt. You can tell this place takes pride in the details – the hallways are quiet (thank god, because thin walls are my hotel pet peeve), the rooms have that fresh, clean smell without being overwhelmed by artificial air fresheners, and the beds are actually comfortable. Not just "hotel comfortable" where you make do for a few nights, but genuinely good sleep. The bathroom setup is thoughtful too – good water pressure, decent lighting for getting ready, and enough counter space that you're not playing Tetris with your toiletries. I've stayed at supposedly fancier places where they somehow mess up these basic things.
The common areas have this relaxed vibe that makes you want to hang out rather than just passing through to get to your room. There's usually a good mix of business travelers and leisure guests, but it never feels chaotic or overcrowded. I actually ended up having some great conversations with other travelers in the lobby area – something about the layout just encourages people to be social without forcing it. And here's a small thing that matters more than you'd think: the Wi-Fi actually works well throughout the property. I could video call from my room without those annoying connection drops that make you want to throw your laptop out the window.
Look, Awfad Hotel isn't going to revolutionize your travel experience or give you Instagram-worthy moments at every turn. What it does do is provide a genuinely comfortable, well-run place to stay where you can focus on enjoying your trip instead of dealing with hotel drama. Sometimes that's exactly what you need – a place that handles the basics so well that you barely have to think about where you're sleeping, eating breakfast, or whether your stuff is secure. For travelers who appreciate substance over flash, this place definitely delivers on its promises.

Executive Suites
First Impressions Walking into Executive Suites on Tahlia Street, you immediately get the sense this is a solid, no-nonsense place that knows exactly what it’s doing. It’s a three-star property, sure, but honestly — sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The lobby feels professional without being stuffy, and the staff actually seems to care about […]

IntercityHotel Riyadh Malaz
You know what really surprised me about IntercityHotel Riyadh Malaz? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be the flashiest hotel in the city, but somehow gets all the important stuff absolutely right. I mean, when you’re dealing with Riyadh‘s intense heat and the general chaos of getting around Saudi Arabia’s capital, you […]

San Diego Ghadeer
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to the San Diego Ghadeer – honestly, the name had me curious more than anything else. But this 4-star spot actually surprised me in ways I didn’t see coming. There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the place that I really appreciated, especially after staying […]

شقه 2 حي المروج مقابل المركز المالي
I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name شقه 2 حي المروج مقابل المركز المالي, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The Arabic translates roughly to “Apartment 2 in Al Murooj District opposite the Financial Center,” which sounds pretty straightforward, but you know what? Sometimes the most unassuming places surprise you the most. […]
