The rooms are clean and functional (the “hall” part of the name refers to a decent-sized common area that’s actually useful for spreading out work stuff or just relaxing), and the staff seems to understand that most guests are here for practical reasons rather than Instagram moments.

I mean, don’t expect luxury spa treatments or a rooftop infinity pool, but what you will get is reliable Wi-Fi, decent air conditioning, and – this was key for me – surprisingly good soundproofing considering you’re right in a busy financial area. The morning rush outside is pretty intense, but inside you can actually sleep through it. Check-in was refreshingly quick too, which matters when you’ve been traveling all day. The location really can’t be beat if you have business in the financial district or want easy access to that part of the city’s restaurant scene – there are some solid local spots within walking distance that the business crowd frequents, places you’d never find as a regular tourist. It’s the kind of hotel that grows on you because it just works, and sometimes that’s worth more than all the fancy amenities in the world.
