The hosts have clearly thought about the little things too, like having enough outlets near the beds (revolutionary concept, I know) and decent blackout curtains for when you want to sleep in.

The 8.7 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not trying to be fancy in that over-the-top hotel way, but everything just works. The kitchen actually has the basics you need if you want to grab groceries and make breakfast, the wifi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and – this might sound weird – but the water pressure is surprisingly good. I’ve stayed in places twice the price where you’re basically getting misted in the shower, so that was a pleasant surprise. The self-entry system means you’re not tied to traditional check-in times either, which is clutch if you’re arriving on a late flight or just want to drop your bags and explore without worrying about desk hours. One thing I’d mention though – while the independence is great, make sure you’ve got the host’s contact info handy just in case, because there’s obviously no front desk to troubleshoot with if something goes sideways.
