There’s proper storage space (not just one tiny closet), decent lighting for those of us who need to catch up on work, and the bed is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with concrete all night.

What really impressed me was how quiet it stays, even though you’re in a residential area. I mean, sure, you’ll hear the call to prayer and some street activity during the day, but that’s part of the authentic experience, right? The AC works properly – and trust me, in this climate, that’s not something to take lightly. The little kitchenette is basic but functional, which came in handy when I wanted to grab some local groceries and make a simple meal instead of eating out every single night. The neighborhood itself has this lived-in feel that tourist areas often lack. You’ll find small shops and local eateries within walking distance, the kind of places where you can practice your Arabic and maybe get some genuine recommendations from people who actually live there. Parking wasn’t a nightmare either, which honestly surprised me given how tight some of these residential streets can get. The 9.1 rating makes perfect sense once you stay here – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does well. For the price point and the genuine local experience you get, it’s actually pretty solid. Just don’t expect someone to carry your bags or bring you fresh towels every day. But if you’re the type of traveler who values independence and wants to feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary resident, this place delivers on that promise.
